Free Internet Services

        There are many places on the Internet where you can get free services. Free home page space, e-mail services, guestbooks, page counters/trackers, URL forwarding/redirection and, free or near-free ISPs (Freenets) make the Internet fun to use. Check out the web sites below. If a site is no longer free or active, which happens from time to time, or if you know of a site that should be added to this page, please write.

        (Note: My listing may not be the longest but I have web pages at many of these sites. There are other websites that say they offer free web pages but I could not enroll or understand their instructions (my limited knowledge of their language) to evaluate them. I have validated the following websites to the best of my ability.)

          Crosswinds
          Provides free web pages (NO limit, so they say), page counter and smtp/pop3 e-mail ([email protected]). Enroll on the WWW. (Canada)

           CIVILA
          Provides free web pages (no limit specified). A Latin-style Geocities. Enroll on the WWW and create a page via a form or apply via e-mail and get a directory and FTP account; existing e-mail address required. Some instructions are also available in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian and German. (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic)

           Cyberbrain's Village
          Provides free web pages (no limit specified). A French-style Geocities. Enroll on the WWW and get a directory and FTP account and an e-mail account ([email protected]); existing e-mail address required and your web site pages must be in French or French and your native language. Instructions are only available in French. (Cesson-Sevigne, France)

           Ciudad Futura
          Provides free web pages (no limit specified). Apply via e-mail and get a directory and FTP account; existing e-mail address required. (Madrid, Spain)

           QSL.Net
          Provides free web pages (no limit specified), e-mail account ([email protected]) and page counter. This service is generally for amatuer radio operators. Apply via WWW and get a directory and FTP account via e-mail; existing e-mail address required. (USA)

           easyspace
          Provides free web pages (25 Mb limit) and an e-mail account ([email protected]). Apply via on-line with e-mail response; existing e-mail address required. (Great Britain)

           CITEWEB
          Provides free web pages (20 Mb limit) and an e-mail account ([email protected]). This web site is in French and so must your web page; and you must be a resident of France. Apply via e-mail; existing e-mail address required. (Paris, France)

           GeoCities
          One of the major providers of free web pages (11 Mb limit) and e-mail account (POP3 service only) and address ([email protected]) plus counter and guestbook. Enroll on the WWW; existing e-mail address required. (Santa Monica, California). GeoCities is also available in Japan in Japanese.

           Tripod
          One of the major providers of free web pages (11 Mb limit), e-mail forwarding ([email protected]), private mesage center and a guest book.  Enroll on the WWW; existing e-mail address required.  (Williamstown, Massachusetts)

          Xoom
          Provides free web pages (11 Mb limit). Apply via on-line; existing e-mail address required. E-mail account available ([email protected]) even if you don't appply for web space. (San Francisco, California)

           Hypermart
          Provides free web pages (10 Mb limit), web site stats and e-mail forwarding account ([email protected]). This web site is for your business web page and you can use two differnt URLs (yourname.hypermart.net or server1.hypermart.net/yourname). Enroll via WWW with e-mail approval; existing e-mail address required. (Atlanta, Georgia)

           Chez
          Provides free web pages (10 Mb limit) and e-mail account ([email protected]). This web site is in French and your web page must/should be in French. Enroll via WWW with e-mail approval; existing e-mail address required. New accounts temporarily suspended until they perform a system upgrade. (Pantin, France)

           Fortune City
          British-style Geocities that provides free web pages (10 Mb limit), counter, clock/date and guestbook features. Enroll on the WWW; existing e-mail address required. (London, England; their web server is in Phoenix, Arizona). There is also a web site in Sweden and another in Germany.

           Wowsites
          Provides nine free web pages (with up to 10 Mb for graphics). Enroll on the WWW; existing e-mail address required, which is available from Wowmail.

          Earth Online
          Provides free web pages (6 Mb limit) and e-mail account ([email protected]. Enroll on the WWW with e-mail response; existing e-mail address required. (Bahrain).

           The Globe
          One of the major providers of free web pages (6 Mb limit) and e-mail service and address ([email protected]). Enroll on the WWW; existing e-mail address required.  :(New York, New York)

           interec.com

           Mygale
          Provides free web pages (5 Mb limit) and e-mail account ([email protected]). This web site is in French. Apply via the web with e-mail approval; existing e-mail address required. (Paris, France)

           Orlan's Outback
          Provides free web pages (5 Mb limit). Enroll on the WWW with approval via e-mail response; existing e-mail address required. (Grand Junction, Colorado)
